Purpose of Data Processing:
I process your personal data exclusively for the purposes for which it was collected. In the context of this website, data processing is carried out in particular for communication with clients and interested parties (e.g. to answer inquiries) and to provide and secure the online service.

General Information on Data Processing
Protecting your personal data is my highest priority. Your personal data will be treated confidentially and in compliance with legal data protection regulations as well as this privacy policy.

Collection and Processing of Personal Data:

My web server, operated by my hosting service provider, automatically collects technical access data (so-called server log files). These data include, among others: date and time of access, accessed page/file, transmitted data volume, message about successful retrieval, browser type and version, the operating system of the accessing device, the previously visited page (referrer), the IP address of the requesting device.

This information is processed by the hosting provider (dogado GmbH) for the purposes of technical provision of the website and to ensure IT security. We generally cannot assign these data to specific individuals and do not combine them with other data sources. The processing of server log data is based on our legitimate interest in a secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). Server log data are regularly automatically deleted and not stored longer than necessary.

If you contact me via one of the offered contact methods (e.g., an online contact form), I process the personal data you provide (e.g., name, email address, phone number, information about your concern). These data are used exclusively to process your inquiry, to communicate with you, and to prepare a potential client relationship. The legal basis for processing your contact data is, depending on the content of the inquiry, your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) and/or the performance of pre-contractual measures or fulfillment of a contract (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR). Should you share sensitive information with me – such as details about your origin or health in the context of migration law – these will be processed exclusively within the scope of necessary legal advice (Art. 9 para. 2 lit. f GDPR). Your data will be treated strictly confidentially and not disclosed to third parties. If no client relationship is established, I will delete your contact data once the communication purpose is fulfilled and no legal retention obligations oppose this.

Hosting by External Service Provider:
My website is hosted by dogado GmbH, Saarlandstraße 25, 44139 Dortmund. This means that all data collected in the context of using this website are processed and stored on the servers of dogado GmbH. My hosting provider processes your data only to the extent necessary to fulfill its contractual obligations and exclusively according to my instructions. Data are not transmitted to a non-European third country, as the server locations are within the European Union.

Data Security:
I implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss, misuse, unauthorized access, or disclosure. Data transmission generally occurs encrypted (SSL/TLS encryption).

Your Rights as a Data Subject:
As a data subject, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which you can assert against us at any time:

  • Right of Access (Art. 15 GDPR): You have the right to obtain information about whether and which personal data we have stored about you and to receive a copy of these data.
  • Right to Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You can request the immediate correction of inaccurate or completion of incomplete data stored by us.
  • Right to Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You have the right to request the deletion of your personal data, provided the legal requirements are met. This is particularly the case if the purpose of data processing has been fulfilled or becomes obsolete and no legal retention obligations oppose this, or if you have withdrawn a given consent.
  • Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18 GDPR): You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your data under certain conditions, e.g., if you dispute the accuracy of the data or if the processing is unlawful and you prefer restriction over deletion.
  • Right to Data Portability (Art. 20 GDPR): You have the right to receive the personal data you have provided to us in a common, machine-readable format or – where technically feasible – to request the transmission to another controller.
  • Right to Object (Art. 21 GDPR): You have the right to object at any time, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of your personal data, insofar as we base this on a legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). In the event of your objection, we will cease processing your data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests. Objection to Advertising Emails: The use of contact data published within the scope of the imprint obligation for advertising purposes or unsolicited information transmission is hereby expressly objected to.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent (Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR): If we process data based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out based on the consent until the withdrawal.
  • Right to Lodge a Complaint (Art. 77 GDPR): You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority about the processing of your personal data. You can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence, your workplace, or our law firm’s location. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the competent authority is, for example, the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf.

To exercise your rights, you can contact us informally using the contact details mentioned above. Please note that we may require proof of your identity to process your request.
